Program C.I.T.Y. got a special visit from the Human Energy Company Chevron on November 18, 2022. The DXIHub Innovation interns had the opportunity to share the different activities covering 3D, 360, AR, VR, and XR with Chevron representatives Robbie Robinson and Amy McTaggart, and owner of the Fordhan Company Bryn Forhan. The DXIHub Interns were also able to showcase this project to Fresno State’s President Saul Jimenez-Sandoval.

ABC30 interviewed Max Tsai, Program C.I.T.Y Director, as well as two of the DXIHub Innovation Interns: Program Associate, Haiyan Fan; and Designer Lead,Genesis Chinchilla, to talk about their experiences developing the program.

During Fresno State’s Day of Giving, students from Southern CA visited the campus and stopped by to check Program C.I.T.Y.! Despite these students being high schoolers, they were still very much engaged in the immersive world of Program C.I.T.Y. that the team showcased! The students seemed to really enjoy the VR sets the most alongside the 360 videos.

Program City made its first roadshow to the Washington Academic Middle School. The students there learned about 3D,360, AR, VR, and XR with our DXI Innovation Interns in a classroom setting. They were immersed inside a larger-than-life plant cell, entered a lion’s habitat, explored augmented reality with the AR Language book, and much more. The students got to take home a Virtual Reality Cardboard of their very own!

Program C.I.T.Y. had its first roadshow of Spring 2023 at Mayfair Elementary in the Fresno Unified School District. This event was on February 17th, 2023, with Jenny Fang-Xiong’s 5th grade students. Three of our DXIHub Innovation interns led the roadshow and served 30+ young learners.

Program C.I.T.Y. has served a multitude students within a variety of CUSD school roadshows! Our DXIHub interns have been provided with the opportunity to interact, and educate, CUSD students from Lincoln Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, Gettysburg Elementary, and Roger S. Oraze Elementary.
